Peoria honors 28 young artists at spring showcase

Posted

Peoria is honoring 28 young artists at its spring showcase.

On May 13, the Peoria City Council recognized 28 students whose artwork was selected for public display in the Peoria City Hall Pine Room from April 3 through May 13.

The Young Artists Showcase offers students in kindergarten through 8th grade the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional setting. Every elementary school in the Peoria Unified School District selects two student submissions for display. The biannual program features half of the district’s 34 schools in January, and the other half in May.

This program celebrates these talented students, and also recognizes the teachers who foster creativity and confidence in the classroom.
