Peoria firefighters extinguish car fire, 1 person taken to hospital

Peoria firefighters put out a car fire in north Peoria Tuesday night.

Firefighters were called to a motor vehicle collision at about 7:50 p.m. in the area of 109th Avenue and Deer Valley Road.

Peoria Fire-Medical's northern battallion responded to the incident.

The single vehicle accident that involved a 4-door sedan resulted in the automobile catching on fire. Officials said the the person was able to get out of the vehicle, and was taken to a local hospital via a fire-medical vehicle for further evaluation.
