‘Painted Arizona’ exhibit on display at West Valley Art Museum

Posted

The West Valley Art Museum gallery, located on the first floor of City Hall at 8401 W. Monroe St., in Old Town Peoria, features an exhibit on display through Thursday, Jan. 14.

“Painted Arizona” displays numerous works by members of the Arizona Plein Air Painters group. This show provides a look at sites throughout the state as artistically dominated by painters.

The centuries’ old tradition of painting on site outdoors is represented by the works of 15 artists from the statewide group, most of whom work on smaller or modest sized canvases. Although oil is the primary medium of these artists, some feature acrylics or watercolors.

Masks are required to enter City Hall. The gallery is open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and noon-6 p.m. Thursdays.
