New airpark Q&A program to air this month

Public invited to send questions in advance

The  city of Peoria continues to collect data and evaluate the potential for a Peoria airpark and will premiere a new video program on Wednesday, Aug. 21, to explore the “why” behind the decision to evaluate the need for an airpark in the city, including a discussion regarding the economic impacts.

The public is encouraged to submit questions in advance using the "Ask a Question" form. Questions may be submitted up to 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 15, to allow staff time to prepare for the presentation.

A preliminary economic impact assessment estimates that a Peoria airpark could bring $1 billion in annual economic impact, nearly 8,000 jobs, and more than $60 million annually in state and local taxes.

The video program will be available on the airpark webpage beginning on Wednesday, Aug. 21 and the city’s YouTube page https://www.youtube.com/@DigitalPeoria.

Visitors can find additional background related to the airpark, including project studies dating back 24 years ago, at www.peoriaaz.gov/peoriaairpark.
