Maricopa County to extend drainage channel in West Valley for Northern Parkway

Posted

The Maricopa County Department of Transportation will  extend the Arizona Department of Transportation drainage channel east of State Route 101 in the West Valley to accommodate utility and Salt River Project irrigation requirements.

The federally funded project is on the north side of Northern Avenue in Peoria and the south side of Northern Avenue in Glendale. It is a part of the Northern Parkway Corridor program.

The work will allow for road expansion of Northern Avenue in the area.

The project will begin in late January and is expected to continue for about 60 days, according to MCDOT.

During the project, there may be occasional lane restrictions in place, MCDOT officials said. Work will take place 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
