Milan Austin, a student at Liberty High School, 9621 W. Speckled Gecko Drive, Peoria, won the Holiday Christmas Card contest through Special Olympics AZ for the high school division.

“We had a total of 137 cards submitted and 12 different programs that participated,” a Special Olympics of Arizona news release stated. “So many cards were submitted we decided to pick a winner from our Elementary, High School and Community/Adult programs. Our State Youth Leaders took a day to narrow down the competition.”

Milan won the high school program, representing the Special Olympics AZ’s Palo Verde Area.

In the elementary program, Micaela Medlock from the Payson Delegation, located in Payson and representing the Mountain Area, was selected.

Amber Ensley from the Hozhoni Foundation Delegation, from Flagstaff and representing the Mountain Area, was honored from the community/adult program.

These cards were sold at a Special Olympics AZ fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the organization.
