Liberty High senior girls commit to play college golf

Spring National Letter of Intent Signing Day was held on the campus of Liberty High School Feb. 15. and four of the remaining LHS girls golf seniors have committed to playing college golf.

Signing day confirms that all current five Liberty High School senior girls will continue their golf journey in college.

This group of seniors were the first girls team to bring a state championship home to Liberty High School.

Liberty girls golf placed 4th out of 28 teams this past summer in Pinehurst, North Carolina at High School Golf National Invitational.

They also claimed the Peoria Unified championship title all four years during their time at Liberty and now have once again made school history with having all five graduating senior girls committed to playing college golf.

All five seniors were recognized in the fall of 2022 as having the team at Liberty with the highest GPA. They also serve in many other organizations on campus such as National Honor Society and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Fort Lewis College – Durango, Colorado
Division II
Liberty High School senior and four-year varsity girls golf team member signed her national letter of intent to continue her golf career as a Division 2 player at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. Gutierrez will play for coach Jim Foltz and is joining her cousin Sunrise Mountain High School alumni Kendal Gutierrez who currently plays for Fort Lewis College.

Hamilton College – Clinton, New York
Division III

Liberty High School Senior and four-year varsity girls golf team member committed to pursue her academic and athletic career as a Division 3 player at Hamilton College. She will play for Coach Lauren Cupp.

Teaen Sweet
Vassar College – Poughkeepsie, New York
Division III
Liberty High School Senior and two-year varsity girls golf team member committed to pursue her academic and athletic career as a Division 3 player at the prestigious Vassar College. She will play for Coach Lisa Monaco.

Kea Kohatsu
Arizona Christian University - Glendale, Arizona
NAIA
Liberty High School Senior and three-year varsity girls golf team member has committed to continue her golf career as an NAIA player at Arizona Christian University. She will play for Coach Kristal Parker.

Brooke McGlasson
University of Denver- Denver, Colorado
Division I
At the school’s November 2022 signing day, this four-year varsity girls golf team member signed her letter of intent to play Division 1 college golf at the University of Denver. She will play for Coach Martha Richards.
