The Peoria Fire-Medical Department is now accepting applications for the 2023 citizen’s academy.
The citizen’s academy is an interactive course that provides participants an opportunity to learn about the inner workings of the fire department, including how a call comes into the 911 dispatch center, as well the fire department trucks, gear, equipment and more.
Classes begin on Oct. 5 and will run for five weeks.
