Huntington University reaches enrollment milestone

Posted

Huntington University has met an enrollment milestone, according to  a news release.

HU, which has four locations, reported a total enrollment of 1,402 students. This is the first time the university’s enrollment topped 1,400 students.

The Arizona location started with 18 students in 2016, its inaugural year, and now has 145 students.

“We are thrilled that our enrollment has reached the 1,400 mark. We celebrate every student because it’s a life and they are a future leader, but surpassing a marker like 1,400 is a special moment for the campus community,” Daniel Solms, vice president for enrollment management and marketing, stated in the release.

Since 2016, HU has steadily increased its enrollment from 1,300 to more than 1,400 students. This year is also the eighth consecutive year of increased U.S. minorities student enrollment, with 16% of the HU population identifying as a U.S. minority.

“Record enrollment is always exciting because it shows momentum and interest on the part of potential students and their parents,” said Jeff Berggren, director of Arizona operations. “Record enrollment in a COVID year means far more. It includes the elements mentioned prior but also a level of diligence, communication and creativity on the part of the university and confidence from new students that transcends the typical recruitment year.”

Huntington University Arizona offers degrees in digital media arts. Students have created regionally and nationally awarded work, including ADDY awards, BEA Best of Fest awards, and Emmy Student Production Awards.

The 30,000-square-foot building in the P83 Entertainment District, houses bachelor’s degree programs in animation, film production, broadcast media, and graphic design. The facility features film and TV studios, high-end computer classroom/labs, private editing suites, a TV control room, a foley pit, a host of EFP and cinema cameras, and lighting gear for student production work.

Huntington University is a comprehensive Christian college of the liberal arts offering graduate and undergraduate programs in more than 70 academic concentrations. U.S. News & World Report ranks Huntington among the best colleges in the Midwest, and Forbes.com has listed the university as one of America’s Best Colleges.
