Grocery services available to seniors, homebound individuals in Peoria

Several agencies in Peoria and the Valley are working to provide food and essential items to seniors and homebound individuals.
Benevilla is continuing to provide grocery shopping services for seniors in the West Valley who have no other support.
Volunteers will not be entering the homes, but will be able to complete shopping services for essential items like food and prescriptions. For more information, call 623-584-4999.
Area Agency on Aging is for people 60 years old or older who need assistance from Meals on Wheels, home grocery delivery, and other necessities during this time of social distancing. This program is also available for adults over the age of 18 with HIV or a disability. Call 602-264-4357 for more information.
Duet is shopping for homebound adults. Duet can be reached at 623-274-5022.
Also, several grocery stores have set up senior shopping hours, including:
Albertsons - Senior shopping from 7-9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Bashas’, Food City, and AJ’s Fine Foods - 65+ from 5-6 a.m. on Wednesdays
Dollar General - First hour of every business day for senior shoppers
Safeway - 7-9 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Wal-Mart - 60+ ID required one hour before opening
