Update: New dates for Glendale to re-open city pools

New Information, May 13:

The city of Glendale has issued updated dates for the re-opening of city pools.

Rose Lane Aquatic Center:

Open Swim: June 8–July 3 / Tues.–Sat. / 1-5 p.m.

Lap Swim: June 8–July 3 / Tues.–Sat. / 1-5 p.m.

Swim Lesson: June 8-18 and June 22–July 2. 

Swim Lesson registration begins Monday, May 24 for residents, Tuesday, June 1 for non-residents

Closed Sunday, July 4 through the rest of summer

Foothills Recreation and Aquatic Center:

Open Swim: July 6–31 / Tues.–Sat. / 1-5 p.m.

Lap Swim: July 6–31/ Tues.–Sat. / 1-5 p.m.

Swim Lessons: July 6-16, and July 22-30

Swim Lesson registration TBA

Closed from June 1-July 6

The city also reports that due to lifeguard recruitment challenges, there is a limited availability of lifeguard coverage at this time. The city is alternating Aquatic Center sites to assure the safety of members is met and in accordance with Maricopa County standards.

A reminder that city pools will soon be reopening in Glendale.

The pool at Foothills Recreation and Aquatics Center, 5600 W. Union Hills Drive, (623-930-4600) will fully open on Monday, June 7. The pool at Rose Lane Aquatic Center, 5003 W. Marlette Ave., (623-930-7905) will fully open on Tuesday, June 8.

The city will continue rigorous cleaning and sanitizing of facilities, which will become standard practice in perpetuity.

Admission rates:

  • Ages 2 and under: free
  • Ages 3-17: $2.50 Resident/ $3.50 Nonresident
  • Ages 18-54: $5 Resident/ $6 Nonresident
