The city of Glendale will spread holiday cheer, beginning with the kick off of Glendale Glitters, including a tree lighting and other festive events Nov. 29-30 downtown.
The city’s kickoff event will promote the arrangement of lights that has been a gift to the community for more than 30 years. It starts with the tree lighting at 5:45 p.m. on Nov 29.
The tree lighting will be held in front of the Glendale Civic Center at 5750 W. Glenn Drive. Free parking is available for all the festivities in the downtown parking garage at 5835 W. Palmaire Ave. and on surface streets.
Residents and visitors can enjoy the sounds of carolers performing holiday songs, indulge in vendors’ arts and crafts for presents and visit with Santa Claus from 5 to 10 p.m. Nov. 29-30.
Visitors can stroll through downtown Glendale both nights to soak in the holiday lights displays and interactive features of Glendale Glitters. The lights will remain on display until Jan. 1.
Mayor Jerry Weiers, City Council representation, carolers, vendors and Santa Claus will be on hand.
