Get to know how the city of Peoria works

Posted

Join the Peoria Leadership Institute for an in-depth look at how the city government works.

Participants will learn about Peoria's budgeting process, water services, street maintenance, park management, the jobs offered at the city, and more.

This nine-week program, from April 16 to June 4, meets every Wednesday, 6-9 p.m.

Graduation is Tuesday, June 17, at a Peoria City Council meeting.

Peoria Leadership Institute is enjoyable for everyone, but should prove especially insightful for those considering public office or seeking appointment to one of the city's advisory boards or commissions. It is also valuable for civic-minded residents who are interested in becoming more involved in their community,

The course is free, and a light meal is served. The course is limited to 30 participants. Those interested should send an email to program coordinator Maryann Loya, maryann.loya@peoriaaz.gov. If the course if full, you may be placed on a waiting list for the next year.
