Peoria Police Citizens’ Academy Alumni has announced a fundraising event 4-9 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, at Kawaii Asian Cuisine, 8385 W. Deer Valley Road.

Kawaii is donating 20% of all sales to PPCAA during that time.

PPCAA is a charitable, fundraising organization that supports the mission of the Peoria Police Department and the Peoria Police Citizens' Academy.

The mission of the PPCAA is to foster and promote a partnership among the community, the alumni, and the Peoria Police Department to aid in providing a safe and secure environment for officers and the residents they serve and protect.

The organization fosters increased awareness regarding operations and practices of the Peoria Police Department.

The organization also helps to coordinate efforts among the PPCAA, the Peoria Police Department and the community, as well as pursues a wide range of resources such as grants, contributions, donations, etc., to support these efforts.

Past donations have provided the Peoria Police Department a bomb dog, electronic bikes, gym equipment, DUI simulator, and a drone.
