Fill sandbags at Peoria fire stations

Monsoons in Arizona can bring high winds, lightning, hail and heavy bursts of rain. All of these potential hazards are life threatening if proper care is not taken. In the Valley, storms often develop in the late afternoon and early evening.

Be on guard and keep apprised of the daily weather forecast.

With strong storms forecast again this week, this is a reminder that the city has sand available at all city fire stations.

Residents should bring bags (garbage bags, old pillowcases, etc.) and shovels.

Also, residents experiencing storm-related and other urgent issues, after hours should call the police non-emergency phone at 623-773-8311.
