KRUV Radiosun and the Valley Talking News are hosting an event to highlight the production of one of its most popular programs, "The Golden Age of Radio," 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 9447 N. 99th Ave.

Attendees will learn the back stories on individual shows. The programs for the presentations on April 16 include Fibber McGee & Molly, Gunsmoke, Richard Diamond Private Detective, Escape, Jack Armstrong and Benny Goodman. Participants are encouraged to ask questions.

Admission is $15 per person. Because limited seating is available, reservations are required. Call 623-640-1219.

Recorded Recreational Reading for the Blind is a nonprofit that connects those with vision impairments to their community. The organization is 50 years old and today has only two paid staff and many volunteers who record news, magazine articles, books, and music weekly at no cost for blind, low-vision, and physically disabled who are not able to hold a book or magazine.

Through a partnership with the National Talking Library, tapes are compatible with the equipment already in use. The online Radio channel KRUV includes these recorded materials and much more in programing. www.readingfortheblind.org,
