The AZ Tamale Festival will take place in Historic Downtown Peoria this weekend.

Dozens of tamale vendors and food trucks will be set up along with a mercardo for Christmas shopping, and photos with Santa. It all runs from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10 in the blocks between Peoria Avenue to Madison Street and 83rd to 84th avenues.

More than 1,000 toys have been collected to be given away to children attending the festival. There will also be local performances, ballet folklorico, and mariachis.

The festival is a City of Peoria Events Grant recipient.
