A popular Peoria eatery is closing one of its locations.

The owners of Dillon’s restaurants announced they will close their first location on April 28.

Rich Dillon and George Valverde, owners of R&G BBQ Concepts, publicly posted they will close the location, 8706 W. Thunderbird Road, and thanked patrons for their continued loyalty. The location opened in 1999.

The announcement was posted at the restaurant and on social media.

To celebrate customer loyalty, the last two weekends in April will feature drink specials and entertainment from the band Faded Jeans.

“It is with sorrow and promise to announce the closing of our Thunderbird location. We have made amazing friends for the last, nearly 20 years.  We hope that you will watch us grow, with our future endeavors,” the post stated. “We are looking forward to finding a new location. As plans progress, we will keep you informed. In the meantime, our remaining three locations would love to treat you with elite, unique and memorable experiences.”

Other R&G BBQ Concepts locations include: Dillon’s Arrowhead 20585 N. 59th Ave, Glendale; R&G BBQ Concepts, at the Wild Life Word Zoo, 16501 W. Northern Ave., Litchfield Park; and Dillon’s Bayou, at Lake Pleasant, 40202 N. 87th Ave.
