Peoria Diamond Club calls  for new volunteers to help with the 2024 spring training season  at the Peoria Sports Complex.

The PDC, a nonprofit organization that supports charities and programs that help kids in the West Valley, has donated countless hours to the City of Peoria to support spring trianing daily operations at the complex.

"It’s that time of year again and we have to start advertising for volunteers," stated General Manager Rosalind Shanley in an email.

The Peoria Sports Complex is the spring training home to the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres.

"Benefits of becoming a volunteer includes meeting your neighbors, having fun at the ball park and raising funds for our grant program," Shanley explained.

PDC has given out  more than one million dollars to West Valley charities through its grant giving.  The volunteer labor force efforts provides funding for the grant program,.

Positions include ticket takers, ushers, guest services, 50/50 raffle sellers, parking attendants and auction table attendants.

Luis Marquez has been volunteering with the PDC  since the club's inception thirty years ago. He's the longest standing volunteer of the club, and was recognized last year for giving his time and "heart" to the organization.

"We extremely appreciate volunteers like Luis," Shanley added.

Those interested in volunteering, may call the PDC office at 623-773-8710 or email Rebecca Wright at volunteers@peoriadiamondclub.org.
