The next Northwest Valley Democrats meeting will feature Kori McClemens, Phoenix representative of Arizona List. McClemens will discuss the mission and goals of Arizona List, an organization dedicated to the election of pro-choice women into political offices across Arizona. She will also provide an update on Arizona List’s efforts to affect pro-choice laws in Arizona. Her presentation is scheduled for Wednesday May 14th at the Foundation Bldg.,14465 RH Johnson Blvd., Sun City West. Doors open at 6 pm and the meeting starts at 6:30 pm. With the mid-term election scheduled for November 3, 2026, many men and women are considering a venture into the political arena. Several organizations have formed to assist the would-be candidates, organizations such as “Run for Something,” Maricopa County Elections, the Democrat Party, etc.. Arizona List is such an organization but only focuses on bringing women into political leadership at all levels of government. McClemens was born and raised in the Midwest but has considered herself a Phoenician since 2013. After more than a decade of community stewardship she pursued a degree in Environmental Studies and has been active in Arizona politics since 2017. She is passionate about advocating for human rights such as reproductive rights, access to housing and healthcare, supporting our public schools and fighting discrimination. Arizona List was founded in 2004 by a group of Arizona women who believed that the best way to work towards a progressive Arizona was to elect more pro-choice, Democratic women — the elected officials who would stand up and fight when women’s rights are on the line. Arizona List is a powerful force in statewide politics due to its well-funded political action committee. Arizona List identifies races in which a pro-choice, Democratic woman can win; recruits smart, viable and qualified women to run; and helps candidates throughout their campaign by providing the resources they need to organize, fundraise and communicate their message for a victorious campaign.
