Avenue 27, Deer Valley Unified School District’s student-run fine dining restaurant, is open for the 2022-23 year.
Founded in 2019, Avenue 27, which is located inside Barry Goldwater High School, at 2820 W. Rose Garden Lane, Phoenix, allows students to cook, serve and dine, and is also open to the public.
The flavors of fall are now on the menu, with the first night of dining for the public on Friday, Oct. 21, Oct. 28 and on Friday, Nov. 4. Everything on the menu is crafted in-house from scratch. Cost is $25 per person.
The $1.5 million project was funded through CTED funds as part of the district’s membership in West-MEC.
The restaurant was built by McCarthy Building Companies, who completely remodeled the previous kitchen and classroom space to create a welcoming storefront with windows, a canopy, accessibility from the exterior for the public, and an open concept, where diners can look into the kitchen and watch students prepare meals.
After Nov. 4, other select Friday nights during the school year available for dining include in February, March and April.
Email Avenue27@dvusd.org with the date, time and size of your party to make a reservation.
