Deer Valley Unified schools off next week for Thanksgiving

Deer Valley Unified schools will be off for a week for Thanksgiving with winter break right around the corner.

All 42 district schools will be closed Nov. 25-29 for Thanksgiving break. Looking ahead, the district will observe winter break from Monday, Dec. 23 through Monday, Jan. 6.

Arizona schools are required to be closed on Veterans Day, MLK Jr. Day and Presidents' Day if they take place within the school week. MLK Jr. Day falls on Jan. 20 and Presidents’ Day will be Feb. 17.

The next meeting of the district governing board will be 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10.
