TheaterWorks’ safe, immersive experience takes holiday twist

Posted

Shows continue this month in TheaterWorks’ current production “A Curiouser Nutcracker.”

Following the success of TheaterWorks’ immersive experience “Curiouser & Curiouser,” the Peoria theater is staging a holiday version of the production as “A Curiouser Nutcracker.” The show runs through Wednesday, Dec. 30 at the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts, 10580 N. 83rd Drive.

Filled with snow and the traditional music of Tchaikovsky, the new production combines the worlds of “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Nutcracker.” The production continues the safe approach to live theater in response to pandemic restrictions.

Audience members walk through every theater, rehearsal space and hallway in the Peoria Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets range from $48 to $36 and advance purchases are required. Multiple performances take place Dec. 3-6, 10–13, 17–23 and 27–30.
