Come see the new and improved Peoria Main Library

The Peoria Main Library has a new look for the new year.

The City of Peoria’s oldest library, located at 8463 W. Monroe St., recently underwent a renovation to expand and update the facility.

On Saturday, Jan. 29 at 10:30 a.m., the city will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony, storytime and tour for residents. This renovation is the first one for Peoria Main Library since its construction in 1991. Prior to this project, the library received updated furniture, fixed seating and ADA enhancements.

Now, the Peoria Main Library has a new roof, HVAC system, fire alarm system, lobby, skylight, front desk, exterior patio and other design and site improvements to improve the library patron experience and offer event friendly spaces. These upgrades were funded in Peoria’s 10-year Capital Improvement Program.
