Billy’s Place fundraiser Hike for Hope 2025: Riding the Waves of Grief April 5 raised more than $170,000 to support children and families experiencing grief.

The funds will directly benefit Billy’s Place programs, which offer free grief support services to the community.

From the early morning stretches to the final steps of the trail at Copper Hills Church, the atmosphere was filled with encouragement, shared stories, and moments of remembrance, a news release said.

“This event is more than just a fundraiser—it’s a day of connection, reflection, and community,” said Kris Friedman, executive director of Billy’s Place. “It’s incredible to witness so many people come together to support grieving children and families, honoring their loved ones and raising awareness for the support we provide year-round."

Some highlights:

  • More than 900 registrants for the hike
  • More than 130 volunteers
  • 308 fundraising pages were created, reaching major fundraising milestones for Billy's Place programs.
  • Donors and bidders raised about $20,000 from the event's raffle and silent auction.
