Benevilla is offering a series of free workshops this May in Peoria.

The sessions are designed to provide valuable resources and insights for older adults, caregivers, and families seeking support and guidance on aging-related topics.

All workshops are at the Peoria Community Center 8335 W. Jefferson St.

Assistive Equipment to Keep You Safe in the Home
Friday, May 9 | 10-11:30 a.m.
Presenter: Lane Hamm – AZ MediQuip

Join Lane Hamm from AZ MediQuip for an informative workshop on enhancing safety at home with assistive equipment. Attendees will explore tools that help prevent falls and injuries, such as grab bars, transfer benches, and bedside commodes. Learn how these resources can support greater  independence and well-being.

The Business and Legal Ramifications of Aging: Proactive Decisions to Make Now
Friday, May 16 | 10-11:30 a.m.

Presenter: TBD – Johnson & Associates

This essential session will cover critical legal and financial considerations for aging adults and  their families. Representatives from Johnson & Associates will guide attendees through important proactive steps to protect assets, mitigate business risks, and ensure legal readiness for the future.

Dementia Basics
Wednesday, May 21 | 10-11:00 a.m.

Join Benevilla’s own Courtney Allen for a Dementia Friends Information Session aimed at creating a  more dementia-friendly community. Participants will learn what dementia is, how it affects
individuals, and simple ways to support those living with dementia in their everyday lives.
