Fry’s Food Stores has announced the unveiling of a mural by local artist Isaac Caruso, at its soon-to-open Fry's Marketplace in Peoria’s Vistancia community.

The grand opening event, scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 6, will feature the unveiling of the 7- by 21-foot mural, created in partnership with the West Valley Arts Council, as a celebration of Arizona’s natural beauty and the themes of community and innovation.

The mural, called, "Summer Days by Lake Pleasant," will be prominently displayed at the entrance of the new Fry’s at 11701 W. Lone Mountain Parkway.

It is inspired by Caruso’s childhood memories of boating and fishing on the lake. The artwork evokes the tranquil yet majestic atmosphere of Arizona lake days, with vivid depictions of wildlife and sunsets reflecting off the water, symbolizing the region’s connection to nature and the shared experiences of its residents.

Caruso, celebrated for his large-scale public art across Arizona, created the mural to reflect the harmony between human life and the natural world. Infused with rich, bold colors and detailed elements of local flora and fauna, the mural serves as a vibrant visual narrative that speaks to the values of the Vistancia community—where innovation and tradition coexist.

“We are excited to partner with Isaac Caruso and Fry’s to bring this stunning mural to the community,” said Kathy Knecht, executive director of West Valley Arts Council. “This project reflects our ongoing commitment to integrating the arts into people's daily lives, providing opportunities to artists, and making the West Valley known as a place where arts and culture flourish."

Caruso is a Phoenix-born artist, sculptor, and children's book author known for his uplifting public murals that aim to connect people through shared stories. Drawing inspiration from his own life and the natural landscapes of Arizona, Caruso’s work is celebrated for transforming spaces with positivity and vibrant narratives. His large-scale creations have been showcased across Arizona, connecting communities through powerful, colorful imagery.
