Apostles Lutheran Church to host Sounds of the Southwest Singers

Apostles Lutheran Church in Peoria will host the Sounds of the Southwest Singers, 3 p.m., Nov. 13, 7020 W. Cactus Road.

The choir will perform their Faith & Freedom Patriotic repertoire in celebration of Veterans Day.

This event is open to the public and is free. There will be an opportunity for giving during the performance, benefiting Apostles Lutheran Church. Donations are tax-deductible and are never required, but always welcome.

This concert event is packed with fun activities for everyone. Browse through and bid on your favorite silent auction items beginning at 2 p.m. through 2:45 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. The auction will pause during the concert and resume following the concert for 45 minutes. Cash, Checks, Credit Cards, Zelle and PayPal are all accepted forms of payment for the Silent Auction.

Immediately following the concert, enjoy a free spaghetti dinner with all the fixings. Feeling lucky? Win the 50/50 Raffle, $1 per ticket or 6 for $5.

The Sounds of the Southwest Singers is under the direction of founding director, Matt Deller. The group has over 100 volunteer voices, and 2022 celebrates their 12th year of performing in the West Valley communities they serve. No two concerts are exactly alike. There will be several opportunities for audience participation during this concert.

The choir will highlight many audience favorites, such as America the Beautiful, Salute to the Armed Forces, God Bless America, Star and Stripes Forever, and the ever-emotional Battle Hymn of the Republic.
