AAUW, Rotary support public education

The American Association of Women and the Rotary Club support voting rights and public education.

The Northwest Valley and Sun City/Peoria chapters of AAUW and the Peoria and Sun City Rotary Clubs collaborated to donate 90 copies of the Dr. Seuss book “One Vote, Two Votes, I Vote, You Vote” to Dysart Unified School District.

A copy of the book will be placed in each fifth-grade classroom and each elementary school library. Representatives of AAUW and Rotary and Dysart staff were present for the Oct. 3 delivery. The organizations are also working with the schools to do mock elections in the classrooms so the students get to experience voting and its importance and impact.
