“Backstage USO” presents the backstage bustle of a USO production, where an absent-minded stage manager attempts to wrangle a cast of quirky performers preparing for showtime, according to a press release. The result is a hilarious and heartwarming tribute to the armed forces, culminating in a patriotic salute to all military personnel.
DanceMotion, a nonprofit youth dance company housed at Bender Performing Arts, offers dancers ages 7 to 18 the opportunity to grow in their training. All rehearsals take place at the Bender studio, 3141 E. Beardsley Road, Suite 110, in Phoenix.
Founded in 1987, DanceMotion stages three professional productions annually and has raised more than $400,000 for local charities through benefit performances. DanceMotion also provides scholarships, free after-school programs in underserved schools, and complimentary performances for children in need.
Bender Performing Arts in north Phoenix started in 1974.
