Virtual Rockin’ for Old Town is Saturday, June 13

Join the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts for a free, intimate concert broadcast on Facebook and YouTube at 6 p.m., Saturday, June 13 to recognize the merchants in Old Town Scottsdale.

For over 70 years, according to a press release, Old Town, “once the only town,” is described as the epicenter of Scottsdale with its vibrant and quaint stores, full of memories and tourist trinkets, avant-garde apparel, specialty shops, western themes and more that make up the Old Town tradition of welcoming neighbors, friends, relatives and shoppers.

The merchants, the release said, make up this area that has attracted world-wide prominence to a small section of Scottsdale and created a competitive tourist destination. However, since the global pandemic has virtually shut down Scottsdale’s most revered section of town, many of the local merchants were forced to close their doors.

So, the proceeds of the benefit concert will help the local merchants “get back on their feet,” the release said, adding efforts to keep the doors open and revive what is called the gem of Scottsdale - Old Town.
