The town of Paradise Valley is saying a fond farewell to longtime Public Works Superintendent Jerry Cooper.
Cooper retired on Oct. 30 after serving the community for 18 years.
“Jerry Cooper has been a credit to the town of Paradise Valley’s team of employees for many years,” stated Mayor Jerry Bien-Willner in an email. “He has always given 110% for the town, and his effectiveness and ‘service with a smile’ will be greatly missed, but the great culture he has helped to build through his hard work and true care for our town will be part of his legacy.”
Cooper oversaw the Facilities, Fleet and Traffic Signals Division of the Public Works department.
“He was dedicated to the work, helpful and courteous to residents, prepared and knowledgeable when appearing before council, and a respected and valued colleague among his Public Works team, as well as throughout the entire organization,” stated Town Manager Andrew Ching in an email. “We are exceedingly grateful for Jerry’s 18 years of service to Paradise Valley, and while we will miss working with him, we wish him nothing but the best as he begins the next chapter.”
The town’s Public Works department is primarily responsible for the administration, planning, maintenance and construction management of the town’s infrastructure, including streets, traffic signals, landscaping, fire houses and Goldwater Memorial Park.
