A downtown Phoenix art gallery will display a new exhibition in November.

“Trilateral Views” is an exhibit by Mare Czinar, Dallas Lee Lovett, and Christin Quissell of oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings and will run Nov. 3-25 at Olney Gallery at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 100 W. Roosevelt St.

Czinar’s paintings are inspired by hiking in Arizona’s diverse terrain and she has authored books about hiking in Arizona. She has a BFA from California State University and has studied painting at Phoenix Center for the Arts.

“I decided to reignite my old passion for painting to better communicate why the Arizona wilds are so enchanting,” she stated in a press release.

Lovett creates surreal landscapes. His paintings are inspired by landscapes and by placing familiar elements in unfamiliar settings.

“I hope to spark curiosity and reflection,” he stated. “This series is less about depicting a place and more about evoking a feeling.”

Lovett has studied painting and drawing at Phoenix Center for the Arts since 2020.

Quissell captures the elusive moment of changing light and how it plays on the view.

“I enjoy how watercolor moves across paper on its own, creating serendipity, and I enjoy the colors and surface qualities that can be imitated in glazing,” Quissell, a private art instructor with an MFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design, stated.

A First Friday reception will go from 6 to 9 p.m. on Nov. 7 inside Olney Gallery.
