The impression that the Town of Paradise Valley Independent newspaper prides itself as not being biased by large media companies or particular points of view -- just simply reporting the community news without bias -- is exposed by recent “Wins” headline cheering Paradise Valley council and paid lobbyist defeating one of the two banning photo radar state legislature proposals. (Town of Paradise Valley Independent, April 9, 2025)
The headline belongs on the editorial page not on the front page since the entire Town of Paradise Valley does not universally benefit or cheer the defeat of state legislature bill to let the public freely democratically vote on intrusive excessive regulation photo radar.
The resources of the town council would be better used than to undermine vote on this controversial missuse of technology hiding behind every cactus to undermine the freedom and goodwill of paradise Valley citizens hosting some of the world’s finest resort hotels whose occupancy taxes provide major support for the community.
The town makes literally nothing (10%) on the intrusive misuse of the legal system expensive photo radar that undermines PV Goodwill locally, nationally, and internationally.
Somebody (not PV residents) is making a lot of money from photo radar, under the phony guise of public safety , at the expense of individual freedom.
The citizens of Paradise Valley , and not special interest politicians, should be encouraged to freely vote, express and implement their opinion. PV town council , withdraw your misguided support for nonproductive photo radar.
