Scottsdale sees few COVID-19 cases last week as 142,000 are immunized

Across Scottsdale’s nine ZIP codes there were 164 new COVID-19 cases recorded in the past week, numbers show, as 142,000 residents have reportedly received the vaccine.

Since last week, 3,081 more Scottsdale residents have been counted as getting the COVID-19 vaccine, Arizona Department of Health Services numbers on May 10 show.

In Scottsdale, the vaccination numbers are:

  • 85257: 13,964 people vaccinated (up 385)
  • 85251: 19,651 people vaccinated (up 586)
  • 85250: 9,461 people vaccinated (up 196)
  • 85258: 16,289 people vaccinated (up 287)
  • 85260: 21,654 people vaccinated (up 517)
  • 85259: 14,004 people vaccinated (up 275)
  • 85255: 29,265 people vaccinated (up 564)
  • 85266: 8,305 people vaccinated (up 109)
  • 85262: 9,632 people vaccinated (up 162)

Numbers provided by the Arizona Department of Health Services on May 10 show 26,150 total cases of COVID-19 mapped to Scottsdale’s nine ZIP codes.

City-wide, compared with numbers one week ago — 25,986 — there have been 164 new cases since May 3.

More than 90% of cases were mapped to the address of the patient’s residence. If the patient’s address was unknown, the case was mapped to the address of the provider followed by the address of the reporting facility, according to the ADHS.

Data available through ADHS shows cases per ZIP code are reported as:

  • 85257: 3,808 cases (up 22 cases);
  • 85251: 5,586 cases (up 41 cases);
  • 85250: 1,587 cases (up 12 cases);
  • 85258: 2,389 cases (up 14 cases);
  • 85260: 4,078 cases (up 28 cases);
  • 85259: 1,797 cases (up 14 cases);
  • 85255: 5,189 cases (up 12 cases);
  • 85266: 819 cases (up 12 case); and
  • 85262: 897 cases (up 9 cases).

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.
