Barrett-Jackson, touted as the World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions, announces GrammyAward-winning artist, renowned philanthropist and NASCAR Cup Series Trackhouse Racing Team owner Pitbull will attend the auction company’s 50th anniversary celebration at WestWorld of Scottsdale, Jan. 22-30.

Pitbull will accompany a 2022 Karma GS-6 as it crosses the world-famous auction block to benefit The SLAM Foundation and Selfless Love Foundation, according to a press release, noting the two charities on improving lives of underserved youth.

“Helping those in need has long been a cornerstone of Barrett-Jackson dating back to when my father Russ Jackson and his business partner Tom Barrett held a car show more than five decades ago to raise funds for the local library and community arts center,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson, in the release.

“Over the last 50 years, we’ve been honored to help raise more than $135 million for nonprofit organizations and we look forward to building upon that legacy alongside Pitbull and these two incredible charities during our 50th anniversary celebration this January.”

As part of this charity car initiative, Karma Automotive is building a custom 2022 Karma GS-6 EV “305 Edition” for Pitbull, the release noted.

The luxury sedan features 536 hp and 550 foot-pounds of torque and a 360-mile range with added safety features including adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, regenerative braking and an integrated infotainment experience like no other vehicle on the road.

Once Pitbull puts his personal touches on the vehicle, the release said it will “be one of the most customized and unique vehicles Karma has ever built,” and it will benefit the Selfless Love Foundation and The SLAM Foundation.

“Together with The SLAM Foundation, we can collectively transform the lives of underprivileged children, providing them with opportunities and resources to succeed,” said Ashley Brown, Selfless Love Foundation Founder & CEO, in the release. “There is so much synergy between our organizations, and this partnership offers a vehicle to maximize our impact and change more lives than ever before.”

Selfless Love Foundation is a nonprofit organization that leverages resources, expertise, and proven solutions to improve the child welfare system, creating opportunities for more foster youth to find their forever families and thrive to adulthood.

The foundation reduces barriers on foster care adoptions and improves outcomes for foster youth with the goal of transforming the foster care system for generations to come, noted the release.

“Karma Auto is proud to be a part of this auction as we continue our corporate and social responsibility initiatives in support of these wonderful foundations,” said Dr. Lance Zhou, Karma Automotive CEO, in the release. “Craig Jackson puts on a phenomenal event and Pitbull is a great representative for these organizations.”

The SLAM Foundation is a nonprofit education organization representing 12 tuition-free public charter schools serving students in grades K-12.

The foundation, established in 2015 to support the expansion of SLAM charter schools, was originally founded by Pitbull in 2013, in underrepresented communities throughout the country.

Serving more than 5,500 students across campuses in Florida, Nevada and Georgia, SLAM plans to expand into Arizona with its Mesa campus opening in August 2022.

With the purpose of advancing learning opportunities from all walks of life, The SLAM Foundation provides the corporate structure for schools throughout the country to operate under the SLAM brand while serving the needs of their local communities, adding the release.
