Phoenix sailor participates in small arms qualification

Culinary Specialist 3rd Class Cammy Lopez, from Phoenix, assigned to amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), participates in a small arms qualification test.

The Phoenix sailor recently took part in the small arms qualification aboard the U.S. Navy warship while on the East China Sea, according to a press release.

America, flagship of the America Expeditionary Strike Group, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit team, is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners, serving as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region, according to the release.
