Patricia Kreighbaum

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Patricia Kreighbaum, born Patricia Reavey in South Shields, UK. Patricia passed away peacefully on April 30th in Sun City, AZ at the age of 90.

Survived by her brother, Peter; her niece, Judith; her nephew, John, who reside in the UK; her stepchildren, Jennifer, Jay, William and Tessa; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

The wife of Lt. Col. Gene S. Kreighbaum USA, Ret., who passed away in 2015; they have called Sun City their home since 1996.

Patricia trained as a pediatric nurse at the Great Ormond Street hospital in London in the 1960s where she was regarded as the most experienced and sensitive of nurses. She then went to serve in Vietnam in 1966 as a Pediatric-Neo-Natal nurse for the Save the Children Fund.

Patricia moved to the United States in 1970 with her husband Gene and where she continued her career as a Neo-natal nurse.

Patricia was an avid Gin Rummy player and upon retirement took up the hobby of weaving. She belonged to the Sun City Weaving club and gained such expertise of her craft and weaving the most beautiful heirlooms for her family, that will be forever treasured.

Patricia will be laid to rest with her husband Gene, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona. Private services will be held at a later date.
