Paradise Valley Veterans’ Appreciation Vintage Car Show Nov. 9

Posted

The Town of Paradise Valley mayor and Town Council invites its residents, neighbors and friends to take those wonderful collector cars out of their garages and drive them over to Town Hall at 6401 E. Lincoln Dr. on Nov. 9 for the 19th Annual Paradise Valley Veterans’ Appreciation Vintage Car Show.

The show will put a special emphasis this year on the town’s children, according to a press release sent out by former mayor Ed Winkler.

“We will have the two new police pursuit vehicles plus the new town street sweeper,” Winkler said. “The vehicles will be available for the young ones to get behind and wheel and experience what the police and public works employees do daily.”

The objective of the show is for Paradise Valley residents, young and old, to come to Town Hall and meet their neighbors and enjoy these vintage automobiles, trucks and motorcycles, according to the release, plus meet some outstanding military veterans. The show runs from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and is free to the public.

“We request that each car entrant donate a minimum of $50 to our designated charity,” Winkler continued. “This year we will donate all proceeds and contributions from the show to The Sentinels of Freedom and the Military Assistance Mission; both nonprofits, supporting Arizona military and their families.”

To enter a vehicle, go to the town’s website at paradisevalleyaz.gov and click on the registration link.

“So, come and view the 150-plus vehicles displayed at Town Hall,” Winkler said. “All vehicles are pre-1984, and include cars from the Brass era, pre-war classics, vintage European and American sports cars, ‘50s chrome beauties, muscle cars, hot rods, trucks and motorcycles. Grandparents, moms, dads and especially the kids will have a wonderful time admiring the kinetic art represented by generations of mobile transportation.”
