Paradise Valley school zones receive new speed radar boxes

Posted

The Paradise Valley Police Department has deployed new speed radar boxes around school zone areas.

The new radar boxes went into effect on Sept. 1.

“Look out for our children and keep the speed safe when driving in the school zone,” Paradise Valley Police Department posted to Twitter.

The radar boxes have been programmed to enforce a 15 MPH speed limit during school zone hours, and the normally posted speed limit at other times.

The PD will be setting the enforcement trigger speed on these units the same as the other units in town at 11 MPH over the limit. Any drivers going 11 MPH over the limit in the school zone will receive a violation.
