The Paradise Valley Police Department’s Defensive Tactics Training team recently participated in the Effective Combatives Training course, a specialized program designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of law enforcement professionals.
The training included a mix of classroom instruction and hands-on exercises, all aimed at refining techniques to ensure officers can effectively use their tools while minimizing the potential for injury and maintaining positive control in various situations.
Throughout the course, the team learned advanced strategies for deescalation, proper use of force and the integration of defensive tactics with other tools and techniques. The focus was on utilizing the least amount of force necessary to achieve the desired outcome, prioritizing the safety of both officers and the community.
