Nook Kitchen adds new items to menu

Posted

Nook Kitchen’s modern Italian menu consists of various entrees including new vegan, gluten free options and seasonal salads.

In addition to showcase Neapolitan style pizzas, Chef Art Garino leads the culinary team, which includes his partner of more than 25 years, Amber Cumming, who is one of few, “talented” female pizza makers, according to a press release.

Added crowd-pleasers include the burrata, linguini and meatballs, rigatoni bolognese, chicken marsala, and an espresso rubbed filet. New additions are the grilled barramundi, and popular vegan options such as vegan campanelle, and vegan fungi pizza, the release said.

The menu is a collaboration between Vairo, Nicholas Winger, director of services and managing partner, and the culinary creativity of Garino.

“We’ve put a lot of effort into the new menu,” said Arizona native, Garino in a prepared statement. “More new items, including vegan dishes, are doing very well. And, the pizzas are still popular for us.”

Garino has been at Nook Kitchen since its earliest days. His personal favorite on the new menu is the Grilled Barramundi, what he calls a “perfect summer dish,” he added.

Among featured “Beginnings” on the new menu are “fan favorites Brussels Chips and Wood Fired Olives; new are a Grilled Artichoke, Burrata, and Steak Frites. “Greens,” a grilled peach and prosciutto salad is a seasonal hit; Panzanella or Italian “bread salad” is also popular among other salad options.

A beverage program led by mixologist Gabe Chavez at Nook includes a menu of handcrafted House Cocktails, as well as select wines, including sparkling varieties and beers and more, according to the release.
