Neiman Marcus Scottsdale to host unveiling of Warhol
Posted
For only one day, the public will get to see Rock Star legend Alice Cooper’s multi-million-dollar Andy Warhol outside of Larsen Gallery.
The legendary acrylic and silkscreen ink on canvas, Little Electric Chair will be displayed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23 at Neiman Marcus in Scottsdale Fashion Square.
The Warhol is available to be seen at Larsen Gallery by appointment only to qualified bidders. The artwork will be auctioned off to the highest bidder during the 2021 Fall Larsen Art Auction on Oct. 23, according to a press release.
The Warhol is expected to fetch between $2.5 and $4.5 million and could be Arizona’s highest selling artwork to date if it sells over estimates.
“For one day only, we are so excited to share this incredible artwork with our friends at Neiman Marcus,” said Polly Larsen, owner of Larsen Gallery, in a prepared statement. “We see a great synergy with shoppers at Neiman Marcus and want to give their loyal customers a chance to enjoy the painting in-person on September 23rd.”
Andy Warhol was an original fashion influencer, dating back to 1962 when the famous artist became one of the first to turn his works into fashion items by printing the designs onto dresses.
In honor of the artist’s rich history in fashion, designers will be on-site at Neiman Marcus during the display hours to help shoppers find Andy Warhol inspired trends, the release said.
“We are honored and equally thrilled to be partnering with Larsen Gallery to showcase this beautiful work of art here at Neiman Marcus,” said Tim Braun, vice president and general manager of Neiman Marcus Scottsdale, in a prepared statement.
“Alice Cooper’s Warhol has really been the talk of the town and we are excited for our customers to see it in person here at Neiman Marcus and also to have the opportunity to bid on it this coming October.”
Neiman Marcus will also host a special invite only VIP Cocktail Reception for special guests with a performance by Indie/Folk Singer-Songwriter Sophie Dorsten from Alice Cooper’s Solid Rock Foundation.
Cooper’s non-profit Solid Rock Foundation offers support and community to the youth in local Arizona communities. The unveiling event at Neiman Marcus will be the last opportunity for the public to view the iconic Warhol painting without a special appointment at Larsen Gallery.
