MCCCD seeks nominations for Scottsdale Community College president

The Maricopa County Community College District recently announced Scottsdale Community College Interim President Chris Haines will retire effective Jan. 22, 2022, and the district is searching for its next president.

MCCCD Interim Chancellor, Dr. Steven R. Gonzales, and the Presidential Search Committee invite nominations and expressions of interest for the college president position at Scottsdale Community College.

The goal of the process is to select a new president by March 2022, according to a press release.

The district has hired consultants who will help identify and recruit talented candidates for the position, including those who might not be actively looking for a new position. The search committee will begin reviewing applications in December.

Applications must be submitted by Dec. 5, the release said.

The search committee is responsible for recommending finalists to the Interim Chancellor by January 2022. All final candidates will participate in open forums at Scottsdale Community College on Jan. 31, 2022.

The selection process offers members of the community an opportunity for involvement. Once the Search Committee has identified finalists for the position, community members will be invited to the public forums to meet the finalists and provide feedback about the candidates.

More information about the college, the position, qualifications sought, and how to apply: maricopa.edu/executive-searches/scottsdale-community-college-president.

Do not apply via the district job portal. To submit a nomination, send the nominee’s name, position, institution, and email address to SCCPresidentacademicsearch.org.

For a strong pool of highly qualified individuals, the identities of candidates will remain confidential throughout the process, until finalists are invited for on-campus meetings and a public forum.

All confidential inquiries, expressions of interest, nominations, and applications are to be directed to the search consultant.
