The Legacy Luncheon annual benefit, which honors retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor was successfully converted to an online webcast recently due to the pandemic.

Under the direction of Luncheon Co-Chairs Jan Lewis and Carolyn O’Malley and the Ladies of the Court, the Women’s Board of the Sandra Day O’Connor Institute, the event with a “Home for the Holidays” theme was a heartwarming success, according to a press release.

USA Today political editor Susan Page, author of The Matriarch, the biography of Barbara Bush was the keynote speaker along with Barbara Pierce Bush, the granddaughter and namesake of the late memorable First Lady.

To add to the festivities, Chef Mark Tarbell of Tarbell’s restaurant created an optional commemorative menu utilizing Justice O’Connor‘s white bean chicken chili recipe, which many guests chose to order for the occasion.

Over 500 guests viewed the fascinating and dynamic program that generated over $250,000 in proceeds for the Institute.
