Judith Mae Kolstad (Judy)

Judith born Judith Mae Wells on June 4, 1937 in Minneapolis, MN passed away peacefully on April 1, 2020 at the Sherman Home Hospice of the Valley near Phoenix, AZ.

In 1957 Judy married Gordon Kolstad (Gordy). They had 5 children and raised them near Osseo, MN.

Judy attended Northwestern Bible College where she received her Beauticians License and later in life became a cook in the Osseo MN School District 279. She also mastered the art of Stained Glass and created many prize winning pieces.

After retirement Judy and Gordy spent time in the Brainerd Lakes Area on Gull Lake. They later became “Snowbirds”. Their winters were spent in Sun City, AZ where they attended the American Lutheran Church and enjoyed the Arizona sunshine while spending time with family and friends and playing golf. Their summers were spent in Nisswa, MN where they attended the Lutheran Church of the Cross and where Judy enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles and beautiful summer days.

She will be lovingly missed by her husband, Gordy Kolstad; her sister, Prudence Tarpey; her children: Greg (Linda) Kolstad, Kelli (Steve) Westby, LaVonne Schneider, Keith Kolstad, Mark (Tammy) Kolstad. Judy had 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends.

There will be future Celebration of Life Services at American Lutheran Church in Sun City, AZ and at Maple Grove Lutheran Church in Maple Grove, MN (to be determined at a later date) followed by a committal service at Fort Snelling Cemetery.
