Jack Allen Ohmart

Posted

Jack, 75, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2020, while in the care of Hospice of the Valley. Jack was born on December 18, 1944 to Bert and Irene Ohmart, along with his twin sister Gerry Ellen (Sleeth) in Snohomish, WA. For the past 4 years Jack has battled COPD and Vascular Dementia.
Jack will be remembered for his 30-year career with BNSF Railroad where he served in many capacities and many states before his retirement in 2000.
Jack was proud of his service to his country in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam Veteran. Besides building railroad, he had a great love for his family, of hunting big game, fishing, camping, golfing (though the rules didn’t seem important to him) he was a friend of Bill W.
Jack is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marla; daughters, Jakki Lundquist, Pullman, WA, and Steph (Steve) Haston, Aztec, NM; twin sister, Gerry Ellen (John) Sleeth, Sun City, AZ; mother-in-law, Ann Trenkle whom he helped care for the past 7 years. He was blessed with three grandchildren, Brittanie,
Tyler, and Kyle. Jack spent the last two years loving and playing with his four great-grandchildren, Lexie, Quin: and wanted to meet his newest twin great-grandchildren, Knox and Nico.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Irene Ohmart and his son, Tyler James Ohmart.
A private family service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please consider a gift to the charity of your choice.
