Harkins: Scottsdale business community relies on quality schools

Posted

No one appreciates the role quality schools play in Scottsdale more than the business community.

We know firsthand that Scottsdale Unified School District schools not only educate our children, but also are one of the pillars of our city that contribute to the strength of our economy.

That is why we are encouraging everyone, including all our friends and colleagues in the business community, to vote yes on the SUSD DAA Override.

SUSD has a history of being one of the top districts in Arizona. Our school district has consistently earned an “A” rating from the state, and SUSD high schools have repeatedly received national recognition for our students’ performance.

The funds from the DAA Override support exceptional student performance by providing equipment for athletics and fine arts programs, in addition to technology, STEAM curriculum and upgrades for our playground including shade structures.

Businesses like ours rely on quality schools to provide a well-educated and well-rounded work force to attract and retain employees and business. Please join us to renew our investment in SUSD schools and students by voting yes on the SUSD DAA Override on Nov. 8.
