On Saturday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 10 p.m., the Greater Phoenix Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce will be kicking off the holiday season, as well as the celebration of their 40th anniversary, by hosting the 11th Annual Festival of Trees.
The annual event will be at the Arizona Opera, 1636 N. Central Ave, Phoenix.
This holiday event --- $75 for general admission or $100 for VIP entry --- will showcase a number of beautifully decorated holiday trees, wreaths, menorahs and other displays all up for auction and sale, along with one special travel tree, which is raffled off and includes an all-expense paid seven-night stay for two in Thailand.
Holiday musical entertainment will accompany a special performance by the Arizona Opera. In addition, heavy hors d’oeuvres will be served alongside a cash bar.
The VIP reception, held 6–7 p.m., will include complimentary champagne, as well as the opportunity to mingle with each designer and other special guests, including local, state and federal officials.
“This is the chamber’s biggest annual fundraiser --- now having provided nearly $250,000 in financial and toy donations to various charitable organizations throughout the event’s 11-year history,” said Event Chair Michael Mazzocco in a prepared statement.
“2019 is poised to be our biggest year yet and we look forward to celebrating the holiday season while also giving back to a number of local charities that will work alongside the GPGLCC in its goals to build an infrastructure to better serve the community.”
