Desert Ridge Marketplace kicks off holiday season with tree lighting event

Desert Ridge Marketplace will light up with a plethora of holiday celebrations, beginning with its annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, from 6 to 8 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 20, and other events scheduled through Dec. 31.

Guests can enjoy photos with Santa, an LED Drum Line, live entertainment, the first snowfall of the season, drinks for CB Live’s outdoor bar, appearances from the Grinch and Mrs. Claus, caroling, holiday crafts, the unveiling of Christmas in Color (the center’s seasonal art installations) and more, according to a press release.

The free event  is open to the public as Desert Ridge Marketplace transforms into what is described as “a living snow globe with its nightly snowfall” every evening at 7 and 8 p.m. near AMC Theatres, except Christmas Day. Plus, there will be snowfall every hour on Christmas Eve from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Continuing the holiday spirit, Desert Ridge Marketplace invites guests to partake in its Salvation Army Christmas Angel Tree, the release said.

The center has partnered with the Salvation Army to provide holiday gifts to children in need. Through Dec. 22, guests can visit the table near Dave & Buster’s, pull a tag and shop for a gift.

Christmas in Color, photo opp installations lit up in vibrant shades, will remain illuminated for all to enjoy through December. Stop by Nutcracker Nights, which features massive Nutcrackers standing four- to 10-feet tall, framing the fireplace near AMC Theatres, the release added.
